Birmingham (UK) poem / game and music on Bullying

Birmingham (UK)
poem on Bullying.....

1.    You may think you're cool coz you call me names,
And you may think I'm hurting inside,

You may even choose to get nasty,

But do you really think I’m going to hide?

2.   Lots of people look up to you,
They’re scared if they don't you'll turn sour,
I bet half of them think you're a bully,

But when you speak to them, they just cower.

3.   You have everybody below you,
Obeying your every demand,

But if somebody bigger came along,

You would bury your head in the sand.

4.   You’re not just a bully, but a coward,
Who’s jealous of people like me,
Am I really as bad as you make me feel,
Or the person who you want to be?

5.   I know I can talk to my teachers,
My parents, family, and friends,
To tell them how you make me feel,
Please let this bullying end.

UK - Birmingham - Year 3s work

Year 3s work on our ideas to help build relationships with someone new in our school .we have also learnt the song by Bars and melody , hopeful , which speaks of accepting everyone for how they are. The children loved learning the song and really heard the message of the song in the lyrics. We were able to sing this to the whole school and used music as a format for learning ways to tackle bullying.

We hope your are well and look forward to hearing more ways to tackle bullying from across the globe.

Kind regards ,

Jessica Wright and Ken Gower
Year 3 teachers

The school of Lempoinen is taking part in an Erasmus+ -project during this and the following year. The theme of this project is combating and preventing bullying in schools. In total there are seven countries involved: Finland, England, Germany, Turkey, Slovakia, Hungary, Portugal. Finland received guests in 28.11 - 4.12. International teachers and english kids enjoyed the hotel while other students were placed in host families.

The week was full of different events ranging from welcoming assembly on monday, ice skating, gingerbread cookie baking to grande finale of international evening on thursday, where food and presentations from all over the Europe were presented.

In Kaupinojan sauna the guests got to try traditional finnish sauna and ice swimming (in an iceless lake though). Verso and välkkäri trainings were offered too. The school was decorated to fit the christmas mood, the hallways had different flags and presentations hanging.

Erasmus+ -project continues in early march with a trip to Portugal.
